Sheffield United 0 – 1 Newcastle United

No classic but I watched an important win on Monday night with my mate Barry.

Sheffield Utd dominated the first half but never had a shot on target. In the second- half, we improved immensely, which speaks well for Hughton’s motivational skills and created numerous chances. Carroll who is starting to ressemble Duncan Ferguson in his play, Nolan and Enrique had very good games. Coloccini was his usual self; his hair was dazzling but naturally he was ball-watching alot. His best moment was undoubtedly his Ram-Man diving header where he managed to miss the ball by around 3 feet. Next to him, Kadar looked closer to casual than composed but he was protected well by Smith infront of him.

Lucky goal in the end but don’t be fooled by the Harper acclaim. It’s hardly news to Newcastle fans. Harper was always on a par with Given. He produced a world-class save near the end to confirm the win but before that, he didn’t have much to do all game. Sheffield United huffed and puffed but Newcastle got the win and went back top.
