That’s the Way To Deal With It

A Danish football supporter has been ordered to pay £108,000 in compensation for causing the abandonment of a Euro 2008 qualifier against Sweden in 2007. The Group F tie on 2 June was locked at 3-3 with 89 minutes played when Ronni Noervig attacked referee Herbert Fandel after he awarded a penalty to Sweden. Sweden was awarded a 3-0 victory while Denmark had to play two qualifiers away from its Copenhagen national stadium. Denmark had originally sued Noervig for £170,000 in lost ticket sales.

I was actually thinking about this as I went to work today. The same responsibility should be taken for physical or criminal damage. Someone has to pay for the tidy up and health bills. Let it be the perpetrator.
